Key Responsibilities

  • Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts, subcontract agreements, vendor agreements, purchase orders, and master service agreements.
  • Support contract management from review through execution, administration, and closeout.
  • Advise leadership and project teams on contract risk, indemnity, insurance, payment terms, change orders, delays, claims, and dispute resolution.
  • Partner with operations, project executives, project managers, finance, and risk teams to identify and reduce legal exposure.
  • Assist with construction claims, subcontractor disputes, lien issues, payment concerns, and project documentation.
  • Work with outside counsel as needed.
  • Help improve contract templates, legal processes, and internal best practices.
What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active law license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Strong construction contract management experience.
  • Experience working with or supporting a General Contractor, Mechanical Contractor, Electrical Contractor, or specialty trade contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, risk management, claims, subcontractor agreements, and project-related legal issues.
  • Practical, business-minded, and comfortable working directly with operations and leadership teams.
  • Strong communication, organization, and follow-through.

Preferred Experience

  • In-house legal experience with a construction company.
  • Experience with electrical, mechanical, data center, industrial, healthcare, government, or large commercial construction projects.
  • Multi-state construction law or national contractor experience.
