Delta Construction Partners is a national executive search firm for the nation’s premier general, mechanical, and electrical contractors and industry professionals. Delta has been retained by a confidential client to conduct a search for the position of Estimator in Tampa, FL.

Estimator Compensation & Benefits:

Salary for the Estimator is between $120,000 and $150,000 per year, and total compensation including benefits, allowances, and bonus far exceeds the stated salary for this role.

Estimator Qualifications::
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering, construction management, or an equivalent degree highly preferred
  • 5-10 years of estimating experience, specifically large hospitals, aviation, or sports facilities of $100M minimum in value.
  • Proven experience leading large teams on large pursuits.
  • Some field or project management experience in conjunction with estimating experience highly preferred.
  • Proven experience with conceptual and self-performing estimation.
  • Exceptional time management, multitasking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing, and oral presentation skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of best industry practices and standards.
  • Advanced computer skills and demonstrable competency with estimating software.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Estimator Duties & Responsibilities::
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for projects.
  • Lead or Perform portions of estimates for multi-discipline projects including understanding scope and performing accurate quantity surveys.
  • Preparation of change estimate ROM’s (Rough Order of Magnitude)
  • RFI development
  • Ensure a complete scope has been captured during the estimating process
  • Ability to survey and price all self-work items (concrete, drywall, masonry, rough carpentry, building specialties)
  • Coordinate with and manage subcontractors to obtain pricing on their estimates
  • Assist in development of and coordinate with the Project Scheduler to implement time impact analyses (TIA’s)
  • Process, assemble, and verification of complete and accurate change estimates
  • Run Owner/Architect/Contractor change estimate negotiation meetings
  • Process and negotiate change orders for subcontractors
  • Monitor comparison of estimated costs to actual costs.
  • Research and promote continuous improvement in developing more efficient estimating methods.
  • Engage in ongoing dialogue with Operations teams
  • Prepare and present information to management and clients in a clear, concise manner.
